William died of blood poisoning. He ran a sliver from a wooden shovel handle into his hand on 8 April 1881 and the hand became infected.101 In 1870 and 1880, William, listed as a farmer, and family were living in the Tidioute area, Deerfield Township, Warren County.102

Mary Bell (Mattie) Watson; born 24 November 1867 in Tidioute, Deerfield Township, Warren County, Pennsylvania; died 7 September 1908; married, 1889, David Anderson Lytle (called Ance), born 12 August 1864 in Pennsylvania, still alive in 1948 and living in Lawrence, Kansas. Mary and David were first cousins once removed, David Anderson Lytle being a son of James and Susan (Watson) Lytle.
Their children were
(a) David Ray Lytle.

In 1920, Leonard and Margaret lived in Santa Monica, California, where Leonard was enumerated as a special policeman and Margaret as a dressmaker at home.104 They apparently did not have children.

Sherman was listed as a laborer in 1920 when the family was in Hickory Township, Forest County, Pennsylvania.109
